September 2017 Event Weekend with Sifu Paul Wang

Sifu Paul Wang, US Chief Instructor of the International Academy of WingChun (IAW), is back  in metro Atlanta offering three events (Escrima Class, Combat Class, WingChun Seminar) to both WingChun students and guests.  Below is an overview.  Check the Event Schedule page for more details.

Event: Combat Class
Date: Friday, Sept 15, 2017
Time: 8:30-10:00 PM

Description: The Combat Class trains a mix of applications from the entire WingChun  system with more emphasis on common standing holds, takedowns, and ground situations.

Event: Escrima Class
Date: Saturday, Sept 16, 2017
Time: 6:00-7:30 PM
Location: Marietta Martial Arts 2145 Roswell Rd #200, Marietta, GA 30062
Member Fee: $35 (cash or check at-the-door)
Guest Fee: $50 (cash or check at-the-door)
Description: Escrima is the preferred weapons system of the IAW. Guests learn the basic stick techniques, stance, and footwork. Escrima stick required.

Event: Instructor Seminar
Date: Saturday, Sept 16, 2017
Time: 7:30-10:00 PM

Guest Fee: Students Only (SL2+)
Description: This is a training course for those who want to obtain an IAW instructor certification.

Event: WingChun Seminar
Date: Sunday, Sept 17, 2017

Member Fee: $70 (cash or check at-the-door)
Testing Fee:
(Members Only)
$20 (Student Level 1-8) | $30 (Student Level 9-11) | $50 Practician Level

Description: The WingChun Seminar is for training the standard IAW curriculum (forms, applications, patterns)

Sifu Wang is a long-time private student of IAW founder and WingChun Grandmaster, Dai Sifu Klaus Brand. Drawing upon his academic education in Human Biomechanics and Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley as well as graduate level studies in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Physiology, Sifu Wang has taught the IAW system to hundreds of students since 1997 both domestic and abroad in Europe and Asia. In addition to the Sifu instructor title, he has the rank of Fifth Technician Grade,  Combat Escrima rank, and Combat WingChun Instructor certification.

January 2017 Event Weekend with Sifu Klaus Brand

Learn WingChun from a true Master!  Sifu Klaus Brand, founder of the International Academy of WingChun® makes his annual visit to Atlanta to teach two incredible seminars.

Special Applications Training (S.A.T.)

Date: Saturday, January 28, 2017

Prerequisite: None, open to all

Special Applications Training (S.A.T.) is the combined essence of decades of Sifu Klaus Brand’s formal martial arts and German special forces ‘Lone Fighter’ military experience.  It derives from the most functional unarmed aspects of the four IAW WingChun Forms, the stick and knife weapon concepts of IAW Escrima, practical IAW Combat training, and control skills to stop and hold a subject.

 

This seminar is open to all members of the general public, students who are at least 14 years of age, law enforcement officers and current members of the IAW interested in an integrated and effective Self-Defense method.

Make sure you prepare to bring the following equipment required for S.A.T training:

  • Stick (Rattan, 24.5 inch)
  • Training Knife
  • Palm Stick
  • Knee, Elbow, and Shin Protection
